The Halo EffectNike and Columbia Sportswear are among the most well known companies with strong ties to the UO’s research, innovation, and entrepreneurship programs. Four more quick examples of the UO halo of venture activity 1) Perpetua Power, a new company based on a thermoelectric technology from the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory with roots in the UO's Technology Entrepreneurship Program. 2) SeQuential Biofuels, a biodiesel distribution company whose founders include two UO graduates, Tomas Endicott and Tyson Keever. 3) Crystal Clear Technologies, a water purification company working in collaboration with Darren Johnson, a UO assistant professor of chemistry. 4) The Oregon Research Institute, a company founded by UO researchers, now employs hundreds in Eugene.
