Brain Trainer: Scott Frey

When UO psychology professor Scott Frey looks into the near future, he sees a revolution in opportunities for people with cognitive and physical disabilities.

Frey, who directs the UO Lewis Center for Neuroimaging, says this revolution will arise as neuroscientists learn to fully harnessing the brain’s ability to control devices

Recently he completed studies of brain function in the nation’s first three successful hand transplant recipients. His findings underscore the stunning potential for new technologies emerging from fundamental neuroscience research to transform human health.

Applications based on the discoveries of research teams led by Frey and other UO scientists will reach society much faster with a financial boost from the UO Venture Development Fund.
